From The Perceived World: Selected Poems of Montri Umavijani
The first selected poetry collection of one of the pre-eminent Thai poets of the 20th century.
The translator of Rimbaud, Emily Dickinson, Lucian Blaga, Matthew Arnold, Dante, Leopardi and many others into Thai, during his lifetime Montri Umavijani published 27 original English-language books of poetry.
Today, however, many of these books are out-of-print or difficult to find.
The purpose of this collection is to make available a wide sampling of the english-language work of this restless traveller and master of the short poem.
